I get real jazzed up about “opting out”. I think it is the best way to describe the culminating self sufficiency/libertarian/local/healthy-living movements that has been growing since economic troubles began brewing. But despite all my bloviating, I don’t think I’ve actually ever opted out of anything. With that awkward fact hanging about I decided I needed to opt out of something quick or else my self credibility would begin to rapidly deteriorate. I’ve been aware that you have the option to opt out of credit card offers for some time. I hate credit cards and credit card companies, but I never really thought much about the continuous flow of solicitations that clog my mail box. I’m never tempted to take their bait so I simply chuck them in the trash and forget about them until the next mail check. Today was the day that changed. Today I decided to opt out.
The process was surprisingly easy. I started out by simply googling it.

I saw the Federal Trade Commission’s website and figured that was a logical place to begin.

There are 2 options. One is for 5 years and the other is permanent. Both options start at the OptOutPrescreen.com website. At the bottom of the page the is a big blue button.

Click the button. You will have to choose the five Years or the permanent. The permanent option has to be completed by mail.

Thanks for the info. It took me under 3 minutes to finish. I will mail it off in the next day or two.
Awesome. I was surprised to see how easy it was. I get a ton of offers everyday. I’m hoping to see it slow down soon. Thanks for stopping by.
Get a wood brushing stove and use all their paper as free energy.
*burning stove
First thing I’m doing when I get out of the condo is a wood burning stove. I had one in my parents house growing up. There is nothing like the heat it produces. I swear I’ve been cold ever since I moved out 10 years ago.
